Joint seminars
The joint seminars are a core element of the program and are organized exclusively for the students of the program. There will be a seminar each at Sciences Po and Freie Universität Berlin.
Using various examples, the seminar encourages students to grapple with theoretical and methodological approaches in political and social sciences in Germany and France and prepares students for a career in an intercultural context.
Internship
An internship of at least six weeks is a mandatory element of the program. It can be completed worldwide at universities, international organizations, within the field of politics and higher administration, media or business. The internship should generally be completed during the semester break between the first and second year of the program. The internship should not exceed 240 hours of overall working hours, with no more than 60 hours of preparation and follow-up, which adds up to a 6-week full-time internship.
In order to add the internship to your formal record, we require a letter from your internship provider detailing the number of hours you have worked. Please send this letter alongside an internship report (of at least 2000 words) and your internship contract to df-studien@polsoz.fu-berlin.de
You can find further information, as well as help with finding and securing internship, at the Career Service of Freien Universität Berlin and Sciences Po Avenir. A list of potential contacts for the internship is available at the office of the program.
