In an interview with dpa, Prof. Partzsch assessed the conflict on the expansion of bike lanes in Berlin. Whether more or fewer bike lanes are built, she says, has far-reaching implications for combating climate change: "If the German capital abandons climate protection when it comes to mobility, it weakens everyone who is committed to ambitious climate goals," Partzsch said. "If priorities are set differently here, that's a danger to the motivation for more climate policy in the entire republic."
