At the second edition of Debatte Dahlem the debate culture in internet was the center of the discussion. Media journalist Jörg Wagner talked to Malu Dreyer, Minister President of Rhineland, Mathias Müller von Blumencron, chief editor of Tagesspiegel, as well as Prof. Dr. Thorsten Faas from the Freie Universität Berlin.

Although all guests had experienced false pretenses on the internet, there was no consensus about how great the fake news danger is, or how worried should one be about it. The panelists talked about the emergency of a complex and modern education of recognizing false news in internet and questioning sources. The public took part at the discussion this time too, following the example of the first debate. The focus was directed once again on the challenge of the protagonists who deliberately bring out their own news through their own media channels and so elude the control of journalistic standards.
