Together with Prof. Thomas Borsch, Director of the Botanical Garden Berlin, and Jörg-Andreas Krüger, President of NABU, Prof. Lena Partzsch talks in a panel discussion about the importance of biodiversity at the FU Berlin
May 22nd is International Biodiversity Day. FU Berlin invites you to celebrate this day in the Botanic Garden to kick off the proclaimed Year of Biodiversity. After a welcoming address by Ina Czyborra, Senator for Science, Health and Care of the State of Berlin, and the presentation of the new biodiversity strategy of the FU Berlin, there will be a panel discussion on the challenges of overcoming the biodiversity crisis and the significance of research and teaching in this respect. Prof. Partzsch will take part in this discussion together with Prof. Thomas Borsch, Director of the Berlin Botanical Garden, and Jörg-Andreas Krüger, President of NABU. Afterwards there will be a picnic, as well as lectures and guided tours by researchers from FU Berlin. Thematically, the event is linked to Prof. Partzsch's current courses. In the seminar “Global Environmental Policy and Implementation”, students develop podcasts on the implementation of environmental policy in Germany. The episodes deal with aspects of the four “green” SDGs, which also include the topic of biodiversity.
Registration is only required for the closed part of the event from 11 a.m. to 12 noon. Admission is free.
