Anna Smoliarova, PhD
Anna Smoliarova, PhD, is a researcher at the DAAD Center for German Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. After defending PhD in Political Science in 2014, she has been focusing on research on diaspora media in the Russian language, media consumption of Russian-speaking migrants worldwide, and their global communication via social media platforms. Since April 2024, she has been part of the DFG-funded German-Israeli research project "From Dallas to Berlin on Demand: The Transnationalization of Meaning? A Multilevel Replication Study in Israel and Germany”.
Her research interests include global communication, migration research, international journalism, public diplomacy, computational methods of media research.
