This paper discusses the situation of the trans-Atlantic security community. First, it examines the fundamentals of the trans-Atlantic security community, including alternative accounts. Then, it analyzes domestic developments on both sides of the Atlantic in order to account for the current crisis concentrating on the US. The paper concludes by visioning a European world order.
