A new policy brief on "What’s wrong with the EU policy towards North Korea and how to fix it" published by the Friends of Europe

Dr Tereza Novotna has published a new essay on “What’s wrong with the EU policy towards North Korea and how to fix it” for Europe's World which is published by Friends of Europe. In the article, she debunks three myths justifying Europe's lack of interest and inaction on the North Korea issue (i.e. the Korea(s) are "too far away" from Europe, the DPRK is one of the last issues where the EU is on the same page with the Trump Administration and the North Koreans want to negotiate with the Americans directly anyway), while suggesting that the EU (and Germany) should make most out of the current negotiating vacuum as well as this year's 10th anniversary of the EU-Korea Strategic Partnership and come in with a new plan which could be proposed during Germany's EU Presidency (July-December 2020) that is aimed to be focused on China, thus broadening its scope to North East Asia as a whole.
