Mark Caprio lectures on modern Korean history at Rikkyo University in Tokyo Japan. His research interests include Japanese colonial history in Korea, Korean post-colonialism, and contemporary Northeast Asian crisis resolution. He is the author of Japanese Assimilation Policies in Colonial Korea, 1910-1945 (U. Washington, 2009). More recently he co-edited the volume Japan as Occupier and Japan as Occupied (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2015). He currently is working on a manuscript tentatively titled “Korea’s post-liberation dregs of Japanese colonial rule".
