Megha Anukampa Singh is a student of MBA Infrastructure at TERI University, New Delhi specializing in Energy, Marketing and Finance. Her broader areas of interest include Energy Policy, Renewable Energy & Economics of Regulation. Megha is a trained Mechanical Engineer from Orissa Engineering College, Bhubaneshwar and has worked for fifteen months as a Planning and Maintenance Engineer in Vedanta Resources Plc.
She engaged as summer intern with ICRA Management Consulting Services, Hyderabad during summer 2012. Her primary assignment included establishment of baseline for aggregate technical & commercial losses for power distribution utilities in the state of Andhra Pradesh as part of Re accelerated Power Development & Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) Govt.of India.
As part of the "FFU/TERI Sustainable Development and Climate Change Dialogue- GISCCD”, Megha will work on the project- Study of Renewable Energy Communities in Germany: Learning of best practices, policy instruments and the challenges. Her area of study would include assessment of smart, efficient and cost effective technology options for integrating energy from renewable resources into the grid for domestic usage.
Megha will perform interviews with experts, practitioners, policy makers and community stakeholders in Germany in order to gain insight into planning, policy making and implementation process with respect to renewable energy communities. Under the guidance of her mentor at FFU she plans to analyze the linkages between macro-economic policies, trade policies, and sustainable development strategies.
The research outcome will be in the form of analysis of the subject with an Indian perspective. It will highlight aspects relevant for India’s foyer into building an enabling environment for renewable energy communities. The inferences from the study can provide ground for designing robust monitoring framework and performance indicators of CRE projects in terms of acceptance of same by community members.
