Shaping Ecological Change - Implementing and Updating the Integrated Environmental Programme 2030
The UBA project "Shaping Ecological Change - Implementing and Updating the Integrated Environmental Programme 2030" supports the program (IUP) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and aims at further development, operationalization and implementation by taking up, expanding and integrating the findings of social science transformation and sustainability research into the IUP process.
In cooperation with the project partners Öko-Institut (management), adelphi, the Institute for Innovation and Technology and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research,
the Environmental Policy Research Centre
- supports UBA's business unit in defining the next steps for the implementation and updating of the IUP,
- develops foundations for long-term political decisions, e.g. with the aid of scenario and system analyses, trend analyses and roadmaps,
- and develops options for monitoring and evaluating IUP policies and implementation.
In concrete terms, the project deals with conditions for success and obstacles to sustainability transformations and examines the role of actors in transformation processes. Action strategies are developed to promote sustainable transformations in the IUP's fields of action, and proposals for monitoring and evaluating the IUP are developed.
