The Freie Universität with the Environmental Policy Research Centre is member of a Global Centre for climate change mitigation. The centre is jointly funded by the TU Berlin and the Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Colombia, and with the University of Capetown in South Africa, and steered by the TU Berlin. The “Transnational Centre for Just Transition in Energy, Climate & Sustainability“ (TRAJECTS) establishes an inter-professional network for global and local cross-cutting issues around climate and health, and is funded by the DAAD.
TRAJECTS works on the exit of combusting fossil fuels for energy generation, on ecological land cultivation, and ecosystem protection. The centre supports South-South collaboration for developing proactive and integrative solutions to design the transition toward a low-carbon society socially just.
