A semester abroad adds to studies and broadens your horizon. The Institute for Media and Communication Studies therefore offers possibilities for international students to spend a semester in Berlin and has partnerships with many foreign institutes.
Europe: ERASMUS
As part of the ERASMUS program the Institute for Media and Communication Studies has 29 partnerships with European universities in Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey. Worldwide
Through partnerships with the Noah Mozes Department of Communication and Journalism at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel), the Department of Communication at University of Illinois at Chicago (USA), the University of Melbourne (Australia), and the University of British Columbia (Vancouver, Canada) undergraduate and graduate students and PhD students can spend a semester in Berlin. » More information on our departmental direct exchange programs
Exchange students are nominated by our partner universities. It is not possible to apply directly to Freie Universität for ERASMUS programs or a direct exchange program.
