David Schieferdecker at Annual Conference of the Network for Critical Communication Science

With two contributions, Dr. David Schieferdecker is part of the annual conference of the Network for Critical Communication Science (Netzwerk Kritische Kommunikationswissenschaft) taking place in November in Leipzig, Germany. He will hold a presentation summarizing a thorough literature review on the conditions under which media use in digital media ecologies can cause activism against distant suffering. Further, he will lead an interactive workshop discussing challenges and principles of dealing with ethnicity and race in empirical social science research based on a survey interviewing over 400 social scientists which he conducted alongside Morgan Ellithorpe (Michigan State University) and Rico Neumann (University of Washington) in 2018.
