Prof. Dr. Hanan Badr, Professor at the Communication Policy/Media Economics Division, will give a talk about "Press freedom in crisis in Europe and the Arab world?" at the Hertie School on Wednesday (27 November).

In addition to Prof. Badr, other prominent guests are Hatice Cengiz, the fiancée of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, and Matthew Caruana Galizia of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) who investigates the death of his mother and Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia. Other guests include Katja Gloger, spokeswoman for the German section of Reporters Without Borders, human rights activist Lina Al-Hathloul and Frank Plasberg, who is known from the German television show "Hart aber fair".
The panel chair is Prof. Dr. Pierre Thielbörger from the Ruhr-University Bochum.
