The European scientific society currently comprises over 5,500 scientists and was founded in 1988 to promote excellent education, research and networking in various disciplines from the social sciences and humanities to the cultural and natural sciences. The organization hosts annual thematic conferences, most recently in Munich in 2023 under the title "Building Bridges".
