Workshop “Contemporary Research on Gender and Far Right”

On 17 November 2023, Ana Makhashvili from the CRC “Affective Societies” and Luciano Santander Hoces from the Latin America Institute will be hosting the workshop on Contemporary Research on Gender and Far Right.

News from Oct 24, 2023

This is the third workshop in the series, this time at the Freie Universität. The aim of this session is to delve deeper into the relationship between the wave of far-right ideas and gender issues. Research areas include the role of the so-called nuclear family to far-right doctrine, far-right ideas and performances of masculinity, the anti-gender discourse, as well as the appropriation and subversion of feminist ideas by the far right. New theoretical approaches are also emerging to examine these developments, such as the concept of “manosphere” as a social media phenomenon.

Guests from four different universities will be presenting their research.

The event will take place on 17 November 2023 from 13:00 to 18:00 at the IfPuK Seminar Room in Otto-von-Simson-Straße 3.

The event will be hosted in English.
