Lectures by Dr. Karina Horsti and Dr. Noora Kotilainen in the seminar of Prof. Dr. Margreth Lünenborg

Dr. Karina Horsti and Dr. Noora Kotilainen from the University of Jyväskylä are working on the affective and medial aspects of deportations in Finland as part of the project "Deportation in a Mediated Society (DEMESO)" and are working closely with the team of the subproject "Journalism and its Order of Emotions" from the SFB Affective Societies, which is headed by Prof. Dr. Margreth Lünenborg.
In the Master's seminar "Journalism and Emotions", the two will give presentations on their work on 11/17/2022 (Dr. Horsti) and 11/24/2022 (Dr. Kotilainen) between 4-6pm.
Karina Horsti focuses on the role of crisis journalism in generating empathy towards marginalized groups. Noora Kotilainein looks at Affective Witnessing in resistance to deportations.
The seminar will take place in the lecture hall Ihnestr. 21-B. Guests are welcome!
