European Training Network: G-Versity – Achieving Gender Diversity
"Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions - Individual Fellowships" within the research and innovation program "Horizon 2020" of the European Union
„G-Versity – Achieving Gender Diversity” is an innovative “European Training Network (ETN)” for early stage researchers funded by the European Union. The network analyzes factors that influence educational and career decisions of women, men as well as sexual and gender minority groups from an interdisciplinary perspective. The goal is to develop practical interventions for the realization of gender diversity in work spaces.
The network provides an innovative training for doctoral researchers within the study of gender-diversity. G-Versity connects 15 early stage researchers from psychology, pedagogy, management, business administration, as well as media and communication studies. The Freie Universität Berlin supervises two of these research projects at the Institute for media and communication studies. In the department of journalism, Ana-Nzinga Weiß will investigate the representation of gender in journalistic contributions by public television providers in Germany.
Next to an interdisciplinary and international academic exchange, the network cooperates with non-academic partners. These include the Zweites Deutsches Fernsehen (ZDF) and the Institute for Media Research and Media Education JFF. The cooperation will ensure the transfer of research results to non-academic audiences.
