The two-day workshop provided a hands-on introduction to cutting-edge computer vision methods for social science research. Designed for researchers who want to focus on practical applications, the workshop emphasized state-of-the-art tools and techniques for analyzing image and video data. Participants from all four institutes of the department explored how recent innovations in computer vision—such as deep learning, convolutional neural networks, and multimodal models—can be leveraged to address research questions in fields like politics, communication, and beyond.
