In debates about sex work and prostitution, there is much discussion about "the Eastern European prostitutes". But what are the everyday lives of people from Eastern European countries who work as sex workers in Germany like? Based on long-term ethnographic fieldwork in Berlin, Ursula Probst offers answers to this question. By examining the experiences of women and men from different countries in Eastern Europe, she shows that the precarious living conditions of sex-working migrants are an expression of the far-reaching marginalisation, sexualisation and racialisation of Eastern Europeans in neoliberal Europe.
