Books that have been ordered from the stacks, from the external stacks, or from another Freie Universität library can be found on the holding shelf, located next to the circulation desk at Garystraße 55. Any books that have been reserved are held here for five working days after notification of availability.

You can check on any media that are being held for you in your user account, where they are marked as “on hold until....” If you have reserved media, you will also receive a notification by email.

Media on hold are stored under the last two digits of your student ID number. Library users who are not students of Freie Universität can find the books being held for them under the last two digits of their user number without the zero at the end. Please visit the circulation desk after retrieving your library item to have it checked out.
